Teaching Method: Teacher Is A Director

Many teachers have problem in teaching especially how to attract students’ attention. The important thing is how to solve them and make a change to be better. Teaching today's digital generation is no longer effective with dictating theories. Teachers must have the competence to manage and direct the class. If not, they will surely sleep. So we are as teacher and we are as director.
As a director, the class must be managed in a planned way, it must have a script. As a director who is working on a movie, the scenario is used to run the movie as planned. Likewise with learning, learning scenarios must be made carefully and hit the target. From material and moral messages to the important ice breaking game is there.
The key that teacher as a director is always keeps students busy learning and active. Do not let your students misunderstand the direction and be bored in the class. It's your job as a teacher to have a smart idea in their uplifting spirits. Example of a case, your learning is interrupted with your students sleeping, and then you can give ice breaking. There is also a new way; you can insert the subject matter into a game like ball racing as seen in the picture. The student will throw the ball to his partner and the colleague must answer the question that is inside the ball. It is certain that students will not be able to sleep because they have to concentrate with the game and they are not close to the table. Surely they will not be able to sleep.
The concept above has ben proven by the expert.  According to Piaget, 1951 playing is an activity that is done repeatedly for the sake of pleasure (Piaget, 1951). Such opinion is supported by the research of an educational psychologist. More generally in terms of psychology, Joan Freeman and Utami Munandar (1996) define playing as an activity that helps the child achieve full development, whether physical, intellectual, social, moral and emotional.

So a director arranges how the class is alive and full of concern. Keeping the classroom vibrant and fun has become its main task to apply modern learning. It's outdated if it has to be a talkative teacher. Now is the time for students to show off. The teacher does a lot of little talking. Let your students express themselves and try new things. This will actually foster a positive and resilient mental learning.
