My Village is No Longer Fresh (Polluted)

My Village is No Longer Fresh
By AW Wardhana

The development of technology has changed how the citizen thinks. All people know that the development of technology is to encourage social welfare, yes! It is about money. Who thinks prosperously, he or she gets the more benefits at first. Inspiring from television, they directly act to get profits from their action.
The thing that people prefer to do is how to manage minimal capital and get maximal result. Yes, we can call it as economic motive. The best thing that they can do is recycling. They can get row material with cheap price, even they get it free. For example, waste and rubbish, people recycle those things to be more valued creation such as wallets, bags, and other accessories.
In the otherwise, my home sweet home village speaks so different. Madiopuro, a village is closed to River Tenggor, Jombang Region – East Java. Many people have tried to be mainstream. One does the rubbish management company, the others do the same. Typically, it is also no different with the neighbor like Bakalan, Kendalsari, and Curah Malang. They have the same way.
A big question: What is the interesting issue in this case? Dust and pollution are the cause. People who we call them as entrepreneur has recently organized rubbish business, namely burning dust row material to be metal bar. They have also organized plastics rubbish but no significant as metal bar.
The competition each entrepreneur became very tough as more people join in that segmented business. As a result, the materials were decreased. No few doers were bankrupt. Now they have moved on this business sector.
The process of producing metal bars especially aluminum is not easy. At first, they have to have a link to the big company which results the crude aluminum waste. Actually, it’s company produces the waste but its waste is still useful. By filtering its waste, we can get the residual material. People cook it with very hot temperature. The result of its production is metal bar second quality, it is not prime one.
Now, what is the problem? It is good that many home productions can produce more valued products and can increase people’ economic. But the dust as a result of metal bars production still becomes a big problem. They do not have the solution how to recycle it again. Additionally, they insert it into the white bags and use those to build some pathways in this village.
Seemingly, there is no impact but do you know? Very sharp smell comes every morning for a month. While the rain comes, it camouflages to produce the white fog. If we inhale its fog, we can get bronchitis or deep inhale. Our breast is able to be very hot. To be an acute, we can collapse. It happens until three months to be fresh but still appears ammonia smelling. According to the people in this village, they have given a testimony that it surely disappear for 1- 2 years.
We can imagine that the people inhale its pollution till two years. It means that the fresh air in this world is very expensive. Some children here often go to District Clinic to check up their breathing. They have to get the steaming aid from the doctor. Unfortunately, it is not cheap at all. Minimally, they spend more than Rp 80.000,- per steaming.
Moreover, the workers from this village who take part in that company, are more apprehensive. For the save of money, they sacrifice to work without masker. Usually, they use the saroong to be their shield from fire. They do not care anymore to their safety. The point is that they can work and get money.
It’s very realistic that people in this village use its dust to be reclamation of building pathways. If they use the sands or numeral classifier of lumps, it will be very expensive. No wonder, people even the organizers do that in order to  get profits from its project.
In this case, we wish that the budget which is used for that reclamation is fair. We do not expect that the budget reaches the price of numeral classifier of lumps but the realization is aluminum dust price. This is the critical issue of this article.
